I’ve been down in the West Country again, as you might be able to tell, so I thought I’d throw together a few things that have been inspiring me on my travels.
One of my musical companions on my drive, I relate Jackson’s music very much to the West Country and driving!
REBECCA THE PLAY
I am so excited to see this again in Brighton, and it was brilliant to see posters and adverts for this all over Cornwall. I can’t wait to see it again – it’s always fantastic to see a book you adore re-imagined in such a compelling way.
UNDER THE CORNISH SUN
While in Cornwall I couldn’t help but read a book set in Cornwall – and I picked up one of Liz Fenwick’s, which are always enjoyable and evoke a beautiful coast.
THE SEA AND COAST ITSELF
How can you NOT be inspired surrounded by such beautiful coast and the sea knocking at the door?
I’ve fallen in love with driving. There’s something rather nice about a long road trip. Lots of time to think, to sing – and eat lots of jelly babies!
EARLY MORNING COFFEE IN BED
I got into this habit while I was away. Nothing nicer than the luxury of waking early and curling back up in bed with a cup of coffee to plan the day with!
I like being by myself. I like the people you meet, the conversations you can have, the freedom you have. It also gives lots of thinking and writing time. Perfect!
What’s inspiring you?
