Looking forward to 2017

Phew, well that’s 2016 over. There’s plenty to look forward to in 2017, here are some of the things I’m looking forward to – except, as always, sometimes the unexpected things are the best things and create the best memories. So we’ll see what 2017 brings – here’s to another productive and creative year.

A Monster Calls and Beauty and the Beast (January and March)

Fowey Festival (May)

YALC (July)

Harry Potter Exhibition at the British Library (from October)

Twentieth anniversary of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (July)

Harry Potter Book Night (February)

Theorising with SpeakBeasty and learning more about the second Fantastic Beasts film (!), as well as watching Fantastic Beasts over and over when it comes out on DVD.

Lots of writing and creativity, lots of books and dreaming. Getting this book that I’ve finally finished out to agents (hopefully). Seeing friends and having fun adventures. Travel. Familiar places. New places. Hope. Dreams. Inspiration.

And from Neil Gaiman:

Be kind to yourself in the year ahead.
Remember to forgive yourself, and to forgive others. It’s too easy to be outraged these days, so much harder to change things, to reach out, to understand.
Try to make your time matter: minutes and hours and days and weeks can blow away like dead leaves, with nothing to show but time you spent not quite ever doing things, or time you spent waiting to begin.
Meet new people and talk to them. Make new things and show them to people who might enjoy them.
Hug too much. Smile too much. And, when you can, love.

Read all of Neil’s previous New Year wishes here – it’s impossible to pick just one.

Here’s to a success and happy new year.
