It’ll Be Morning Soon

A poem to remind me that there is always light. The darkness doesn’t last forever.

It’ll be morning soon,

they say as the darkness falls

and we’re draped in a cloak of darkness.

It’ll be morning soon,

I say as the dark creeps

in and I am falling deeper –

it’ll be morning soon

I think, holding onto that hope,

which is all I have left.

It’ll be morning soon

I say, longing for the light

and brightness of the day

that tells no lies to me

as I lie here and cry.

It’ll be morning soon

I hope as the darkness continues

to push on as I wait –

wait for morning to come.
